About us
Youth driving change
The Global Shapers Community, an initiative of the World Economic Forum, is a global movement of extraordinary young people influencing positive change through dialogue and action. Shapers in Kwara State are united by a common desire to build a more peaceful and inclusive community.
Founded to fill a huge void in Kwara state, Nigeria, we are committed to unlocking new ideas – through dialogue and action – which are capable of transforming the socio-economic landscape of the state and shaping its future in line with the global mission of improving local communities with leadership expertise from the World Economic Forum.

How it started
Founding Curator, Yusuf Qudus Oyindamola
The vision to charter a Global Shapers Community in Kwara State started with the determination and leadership nudge of Yusuf Qudus Oyindamola, a community development advocate.
Building Bridges
Through collaborating with other professionals who shared similar vision, the founding curator was able to successfully charter the new hub, and was named Ilorin Global Shapers Community.
Impacting the Community
Shortly after the launch, the team got to work. In the space of 12 months, the team was able to secure partnership with relevant stakeholders in the State. In April, 2022, the team won a $12k grant to facilitate and accelerate climate related projects in Kwara State.
